Nature-Based Coaching

Fresh air, fresh perspective - clarity starts with movement.

Coaching in Nature

Sometimes, stepping outside is exactly what’s needed to move forward. Nature-based coaching blends structured 1:1 support with the restorative power of the outdoors. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply want a new way to process your thoughts, walking side-by-side can make space for clarity and creativity.

In addition to online and indoor in-person sessions, this option is available for both Career and Life Coaching sessions, and is offered in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Why It Works

Nature-based coaching supports:

  • Creative problem-solving

  • Mindset shifts

  • Stress reduction

  • Reconnecting with your goals in a grounded, calm way

What You Need to Know

  • Sessions take place in nearby public green spaces in Leeds, such as Roundhay Park or Meanwood Park. These locations offer peaceful surroundings ideal for coaching while walking.

  • Dress for comfort and the weather. Comfortable footwear is a must, as we'll be walking, and make sure to wear suitable clothing for the season - layers and waterproofs are a good idea if the forecast looks changeable.

  • We'll plan for an outdoor session, but if the weather turns miserable, we’ll check in on the day to see what you’d prefer. We can still go ahead if you’re up for it, or we can move the session online or indoors.

  • Yes - for visibility and safety, nature-based coaching sessions are arranged during daylight hours.

  • Walking and talking is the core of these sessions, so you don’t need much. You’re welcome to bring a notebook to jot down insights as they crop up, but the focus is on processing things as you walk - letting your thoughts move freely. Bring water and anything else that’ll keep you comfortable for a 50–60 minute walk.

  • Being in nature encourages a different kind of thinking. Movement and natural surroundings help stimulate creativity, reduce stress, and allow your mind to wander - often leading to insights you wouldn't find sitting at a desk. Research shows that time in nature can improve problem-solving, support cognitive clarity, and boost mental wellbeing.

  • Nature-based coaching can benefit anyone - whether you're outdoorsy or not. You don't need to be an experienced hiker or nature-lover to get something out of these sessions.

It might suit you if you:

    • Prefer open-air environments to office settings

    • Find walking helps you think clearly

    • Want a break from the screen and a change of scenery

    • Enjoy being outdoors, even for a short time

    • Are neurodivergent (especially ADHD) and find movement helps your thoughts flow

    • Feel more at ease talking side-by-side rather than face-to-face

  • Let me know if you have accessibility needs and we can find a location or setup that works for you.

  • You can book a nature-based coaching session via my booking page.

Just select the Nature-Based Coaching option when choosing your session type. If you’re not sure whether it’s right for you, feel free to book a Free Discovery Call and we can talk it through.
